Accommodation

Built at the beginning of the 17th Century, the Château d'Etoges has hosted many French Kings, who enjoyed staying for a few nights on their way to the East. Famous guests include Louis XIV, the Sun King, who was particularly fond of the sensational gardens, fountains and pools and it is said that King Louis XVI sought refuge here during his escape to Varennes following the French Revolution. The owners who have had the Chateau for over a century vow that every guest will receive a regal welcome, matching their famous clientele of the past!

In a small picturesque village, located 36 miles outside of Reims, that matches the elegance of this beautiful Chateau, guests can take in the sights, sounds and particularly tastes of the Capital of Champagne before retiring to what feels like their own personal castle. In this charming and unique destination, you can take a ride around the moat in your very own rowing boat providing you don't scare the swans! The Château also offers bicycles, table tennis, croquet and boules to keep even the most active guests occupied!

Crossing the bridge over the Château's moat is like stepping into a fairytale-the grandeur of the façade and the expansive grounds are truly breathtaking. Drinking a flute of Champagne on the terrace on a warm summer evening is a real treat-otherwise the aperitif can be taken in the opulent, grand lounge, where you will find comfy leather sofas and daily newspapers.

The Château has 20 individually-styled bedrooms, and the magnificent Deluxe rooms, effectively Junior Suites are situated in the Château itself and offer beautiful panoramic views across the grounds. They also have a separate lounge area. The huge beds and high ceilings create a regal atmosphere, whilst maintaining warmth and cosiness.

This spectacular castle, set in 18 acres of spectacular parkland, is an ideal haven of privacy and tranquillity.

Accommodation

The architecture of the Château de Courcelles is of the purest Louis XIV style, and was built between 1690-1694, towards the end of the long reign of the Sun King, builder of Versailles. With successive acquisitions of land around the residence, the estate of Courcelles is set in the steps of the east. During 1715, which saw the end of Louis XIV, the Baron de la GRANGE, builder of the Château and founder of the estate, also died. His son sold the residence to a certain Martin Bouron, royal notary in Paris and adviser to the king. He spent a major part of his life at the residence and was to die there in 1743.

The castle comprises 13 bedrooms and 5 suites, a gourmet restaurant (Michelin and Gault Millau guides), a bar, a reading-room with 18th Century-style furnishings and a terrace where meals are often served. The bedrooms and suites are all provided with well-furnished bathrooms, a mini-bar and a television.

Enjoy a short walk in the “French style gardens” with symmetric alleys and statues. For a longer promenade, take the time to walk around the canal with 200-year-old plane trees, touch the horses as they approach to see you, and reach the 15-acre forest.

Also available to guests of the Château are a heated open air swimming pool, a sauna, tennis facilities, three jogging circuits and horse riding.
